These flat washers are TRUE TITANIUM(TM), specifically Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). Grade 5 titanium is a common aerospace alloy that has been used in commercial aircraft for decades.
Flat washers are designed to spread the pressure of a bolt or screw under the head. If the washer starts corroding, then the washer fails and the head of the fastener starts to dip into whatever is under it. A bigger problem occurs when washer actually cracks due to corrosion and then comes completely loose.
Another benefit with Grade 5 titanium flat washers is their strength and springiness. This spreads the pressure of the fastener's clamping force evenly around the head. With a minimum yield strength of 128,000 psi (880 Mpa), they are designed for structural applications in race cars, sailboats, powerboats, engines, bicycles, etc. If you are looking for high strength, or lightweight, or zero rust, these Grade 5 titanium flat washers will work perfectly.
